Attendance
All students are required to complete 120 hours of combined didactics, lab and clinical training.
Lecture - 60 hours
Lab - 20 hours
Clinical training - 40 hours
Late attendance:
Students are allowed to be late for 15 minutes for lectures and skills lab classes. 3 instances of being 15 minutes late is equivalent to 1 absence.
Students are responsible for any missed lectures and skills topics. Students are expected to arrive at least 15 minutes prior to their clinical training.
Absences:
Clinical training: Students are expected to meet the total number of hours as set by the Arizona Board of Nursing. There are no provisions for excused
absence other than the list under “special circumstances”.
Special circumstances:
The following “special circumstances” constitute an excused absence with appropriate documentation submitted to the instructor.
a. Jury duty and subpoenas
b. Family emergency: death of immediate family member (parents, child, spouse, siblings)
Students who are unable to attend lectures or skills should submit a written notification to the instructor seven days prior.
If a student misses one day of theory class, he/she will be able to make up for it on the last day of the Theory portion of the program. If a student misses more than one day of theory classes, the student will be transferred to another cohort.
If a student misses one day of clinicals, he/she will be able to make up for it on the last day of Clinicals of the program. If a student misses more than one day of clinicals, the student will be transferred to a future cohort.
Missed clinical hours need to be taken at the clinical site with an instructor. The School may assign students to join another class to make up missed hours.
Students with more than two (2) absences will be moved to a future cohort.
