  • What is a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)?
    A CNA is a trained healthcare professional who assists patients under the supervision of a registered nurse or licensed practical nurse. CNAs help with everyday activities such as bathing, dressing, mobility, taking vital signs and ensuring patient comfort
  • How long is the CNA program at East Valley Nurse Academy?
    The program consists of 120 hours over approximately 8 weeks. Students complete 60 hours of classroom instruction, 20 hours of hands‑on lab work and 40 hours of clinical practice
  • What will I learn in the course?
    You’ll cover foundational topics (healthcare settings, team roles, legal and ethical standards, communication, infection control, safety and emergency response), daily care and body systems (anatomy, patient transfers, personal care, nutrition and elimination) and specialized care (chronic and acute conditions, dementia and Alzheimer’s, mental health, rehabilitation, end‑of‑life care and professional self‑care).
  • What are the admission requirements?
    Applicants must: Complete the enrollment agreement and pay the $200 registration fee. Be at least 18 years old and possess a valid U.S. government‑issued photo ID. Be able to speak, read and write in English. Attest to having a Social Security Number (presentation to the school is not required). Provide proof of legal residency in the United States. Submit a high‑school diploma, GED, college transcript, or proof of prior nurse aide certification. Pass an English, reading and math competency exam (administered at no cost). Present a current fingerprint clearance card. Provide a negative TB test or physical examination. Undergo a 10‑panel drug screening. Provide immunization records (MMR, Varicella, flu, Hepatitis B, Covid‑19 vaccine or waiver). Hold a current BLS certification prior to clinical training
  • Do I need a high school diploma?
    Yes. You must provide a high‑school diploma, GED, college transcripts, or proof of prior nurse aide or caregiver certification.
  • How much does the program cost?
    The total investment is $1,859, which includes a $200 registration fee, $1,100 tuition and lab supplies, and approximately $559 for out‑of‑pocket requirements such as uniform, background check, fingerprinting and state exam fee
  • Do you offer payment plans?
    Yes. We offer flexible payment options. For example: – Installment Plan A: $200 deposit followed by four weekly payments. – Installment Plan B: $200 deposit followed by two larger payments. (Details may vary—please contact us for the most up‑to‑date payment options.)
  • What does the tuition include?
    Tuition includes classroom instruction, lab supplies, clinical training, exam preparation and support from experienced instructors. Additional costs like uniforms and background checks are noted above.
  • When does the next class start?
    Our next cohort has enrollment open from July 21 to September 8. Lecture and skills labs run from September 22 to October 27, clinicals from October 29 to November 14, and the final exam takes place on November 17.
  • What days and times are classes held?
    Classes meet on Monday, Wednesday and Friday evenings from 5 pm to 10 pm, making it easier to balance work or family obligations.
  • Where is the school located?
    All classes and labs are held at 2815 S Alma School Rd Ste 108, Mesa, AZ 85210.
  • Is the program accredited?
    Yes. East Valley Nurse Academy is approved by the Arizona Board of Nursing and follows American Heart Association guidelines. Our students have a 100 % skills exam pass rate and a 93 % knowledge exam pass rate.
  • What certification will I earn?
    After successfully completing the program and passing the state exam, you’ll be certified as a Nursing Assistant in Arizona.
  • What is the average CNA salary?
    The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reports that the median annual salary for nursing assistants in 2023 was $38,130, which is about $18.33 per hour. Salaries in Arizona typically range from $18 to $20 per hour.
  • Do you help with job placement?
    While we do not guarantee job placement, our instructors and staff can provide guidance and resources to help you enter the workforce quickly. CNAs are in high demand in hospitals, long‑term care facilities, rehabilitation centers and home‑health agencies.
